Recently, I was talking to one of the moms in our den. The conversation turned to the benefits of Cub Scouts. This mom told me that she loves Cub Scouting because it forces you to spend time doing activities with your son. “We should be doing that anyway,” she said, “but sometimes it’s hard to find time. With Scouts, you have to find the time.”
Regardless of what rank your son is, Cub Scouts has lots of great activities you can do together. Simply grab your son’s book and take a look through it. Whether you’re researching an animal or making a paper bag puppet, the time you spend with your son is invaluable. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest benefits of Cub Scouts.
You can see from the picture that the Pinewood Derby is a family affair for us! Our pack has a “parents and siblings” race, so we can all make a car and compete.
Helping out at den and pack meetings, making cakes for our Dad & Cub cake competition, camping, and hiking are just a few of the other activities that allow you to spend time with your children.
What do you think are some of the benefits of Cub Scouts?
