Check Your Local Store

You will need to check with your local store, but some locations of the big sports & outdoor retailers offer discounts for Scouts. If they do offer the discount, you'll probably need either your unit number or your BSA membership card.

While I can't guarantee that these stores have a discount, it doesn't hurt to ask!

  • Cabela's
  • Bass Pro Shops
  • Dick’s Sporting Goods
  • Gander Mountain
  • REI

Other Ways to Save Money

If you need supplies for a Cub Scout activity or project, ask at Lowes and Home Depot. Both have given us discounts in the past.

Many attractions such as theme parks, museums, zoos, roller skating rinks, bowling centers, etc. offer group rates for Scouts. Give them a call and ask. In fact, if you're paying admission for your Scouts, ask for a discount. When we took our boys to a high school basketball game, the school gave free admission to all of our Scouts in uniform.

Check Groupon for local deals too. Sometimes, the Groupon rate may be less than the discounted rate.
