The 10 Best Cub Scout Recruitment Display Ideas

Having a cool display is a great way to get folks' attention during Cub Scout recruiting events. Check out these 10 awesome Cub Scout recruitment displays.

Cub Scout Recruitment Display Ideas

School has started where we live, and that means it’s time to recruit new Cub Scouts. Many districts will allow packs to set up an informational table or booth for parents and kids at their open houses.

But how do you make your Cub Scout recruitment displays inviting so that families will be excited to talk to you about joining the program?

my Cub Scout display board

Luckily, quite a few packs have put together awesome displays and shared pictures online!

I’ve collected 10 of the best Cub Scout recruitment displays to share with you. Hopefully, they’ll give you some ideas that you can use for your pack’s display.

When we were able to identify the person who posted the picture online, we emailed asking for permission to use the photo. If you own one of these images and don’t want it to be included, please email me at [email protected], and I’ll remove it. Thank you to the folks who have given us permission.

Many schools will allow you to use a table, so your display needs to be something that you can put on a table. These trifold display boards work well.

10 Great Cub Scout Recruitment Displays

Easy Cub Scout display

Display 1. This display was created with printables that are available on Etsy. Simply print them out and attach them to the display board.

Heidi, who made this, added their pack number, an image of the rank badges, and a list of the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting. Using the printables made this a super quick project that looks great!

recruitment display with tent

Display 2. This tent exhibit is sure to draw some visitors! When you have them in the tent, it's easy to share all the great things about Cub Scouting.

Display 3. Pack 961 created this awesome Cub Scout recruitment display. When we contacted them about using their image, they shared some information about their display.

One of their assistant den leaders made the photo board highlighting fun activities. Their former Cubmaster put together the cool table display. It includes uniforms, trophies and Pinewood Derby cars belonging to his sons.

The tall shelf piece is part of the straightaway from their aluminum Pinewood Derby track. That has to be the most clever way I've ever seen Derby cars displayed!

If you look closely, you can see a Cub Scout-built toolbox toward the back of the table. In it are the handbooks for each rank and a STEM handbook.

The display has Council event flyers, Boys' Life mini-issues, and other giveaways with the Pack's contact information attached.

Pack 261 has pens and contact request slips in a tin cup. After filling out the slips, parents can deposit them in the box behind the cup.

They have found people are more likely to request information that way as opposed to leaving their information on a list to be seen by others. That's a great suggestion!

A big thank you goes out to Pack 961 for sharing their information with us!

Display 4.  Pack 1570 put together this simple yet effective display using photos from their events. Cub Scout recruitment displays with pictures of the Scouts having fun are always a great way to recruit new Scouts.

Cub Scout display with Buttons the radical Boy Scout

Display 5. Buttons the Radical Boy Scout is helping recruit Cub Scouts! Buttons is the mascot of PTC Media, a company that produced several Scouting podcasts including An Hour a Week? hosted by Cubmaster Chris. I listened to all the episodes when my sons first joined Cub Scouts.

Buttons starred in several Scouting videos about 10 or 12 years ago.
A few years ago, Buttons came out of his semi-retirement when his boss, Scoutmaster Steve, helped their local pack reorganize their leadership. Check out these pictures of Buttons assisting with the display

Why not find a fun stuffed animal that can wear a pack t-shirt (or even a uniform shirt) at your recruiting event? It will definitely draw people's attention!

Eagle Scout display for Cub Scout recruitment

Display 6. This Eagle Court of Honor exhibit would work great for a Cub Scout recruiting event. In addition to the uniform, neckerchiefs, and handbooks, several Cub Scout projects are included. This is a great way to show the prospective Scouts some of the things they'll be doing.

Cub Scout projects on display

We did something similar for our recruitment night/round-up. I brought the candy dispenser, bookends, chess set, duct tape wallet, catapult, paracord bracelet, and wood projects that my boys had made.

We displayed these Cub Scout wood projects at our recruitment event.

When you stop and think about all those things, you realize just how many cool projects they get to make in Cub Scouts and how many different skills they've learned too.

Family Scouting in Cub Scout display

Display 7. This display shares information about family scouting. I'm sure that this year, many families will have questions about family scouting, and I like how this pack addresses them in their exhibit.

In addition to pictures showing how the Cubs are learning while having fun, the pack describes each rank in the Cub Scout advancement trail.

Colorful Cub Scout Display highlighting activities

Display 8. Pack 174 has colorful letters that are easy to read at a distance, so you know you're looking at a Cub Scout exhibit. I love the way they categorize their pictures.

You can see camping, hiking, service projects, Raingutter Regatta, Pinewood Derby, popcorn, parades, and fun events. What a great way to show off the fun that the pack is having!

Display 9. Pack 54 shows off their activity photos with colorful backgrounds. Using bright colors can draw your eyes to the image.

I love the “x-treme” poster. That looks like it might be a council-provided poster. Check with your council to see what kinds of recruitment materials they have available for packs.

Scout Me In Cub Scout display

Display 10.Scout Me In” is the new marketing slogan for family scouting. Pack 164 does a great job of highlighting this new phrase in their display.

I love that they share their Facebook page. And that QR code is genius! It goes to a page where you can sign yourself or your child up for Cub Scouts. I was actually able to scan the code in the photo to check it out!

Historical Cub Scout display

Bonus Display. This is a display of Cub Scout's history. Check out the cap with the gold stripes! I wouldn't use this as a recruiting display, but it would be great to set up for Scout Sunday.

Does your town have a museum that includes local history? The display would be a perfect addition for them!

I hope these Cub Scout recruitment displays will help you as you make your own recruiting display!

Hi, there! I heard back from the pack. Here is their response:

We use a local company for our screenprinting orders, their link is below. Small family company and wonderful to work with.
